These crisp spice cookies are perfect for Christmas morning.

  1. Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. In another bowl, whisk remaining ingredients; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Divide dough into quarters; shape each into a 12-inch long roll. Wrap in plastic; refrigerate overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Unwrap the rolls and cut dough crosswise into 3/4-inch slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake until set, 10-12 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
